About Us

Best Start is a home visiting program for families with children ages zero to three and for prenatal mothers.  We are housed in Spaulding Early Childhood Center and provide services for the entire Midlothian School District 143 and surrounding areas.  This includes Markham, Robbins, and Crestwood families who reside within District 143 boundaries.

The program is funded through the Prevention Initiative by the state of Illinois' Early Childhood Block Grant, and is available to eligible families for FREE.

The program is intended to support the parent/caregiver and child relationship as they prepare for the future.  We enhance school readiness by reaching children during their formative years of life, and offer age-appropriate activities that promote gross/fine motor, social-emotional, and communication development.
